Olujimi condemns Ekiti cult killings as police arrest 34 more suspects

Senator representing Ekiti South, Mrs. Biodun Olujimi, has condemned the killings of six persons in a cult clash at Ikere-Ekiti, Ikere Local Government Area of Ekiti State.

She spoke just as the Police Command stated 34 more suspects have been arrested in connection with Sunday’s bloody violence in the town.

Olujimi mentioned hooliganism and cultism shouldn’t be a way of life and must be discouraged.

In a statement she personally signed in Ado-Ekiti on Monday, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain described the incident as condemnable, unacceptable and alien to the behavioural pattern of peace-loving folks of Ekiti State.

Olujimi mentioned the killings had been worrisome, calling on security agencies to fish out the masterminds of the killings and ensure they face the full wrath of the legislation.

She urged security agencies to beef up security in the state, most particularly in flashpoints to stop the reoccurrence of such incidents, saying security is non-negotiable and should be assured.
