The Police Control in Kano has Supported the arrest of a Single Anas Sa’idu for allegedly kidnapping and murdering a 16-year-old, Tijjani Kabiru, in Kwanar Gwarmai Village at the Bebeji Local Government Area of the Country.

The spokesman of this control, DSP Abdullahi Haruna, said this in a statement on Saturday at Kano.

Haruna said the control on Nov. 9 received a complaint in the victim’s father, Alhaji Kabiru, his son, Tijjani, was murdered at Kwanar Gwarmai, Kwanar Dangora city in Bebeji.

The spokesman said the defendant was detained by men of Operation Puff Adder on Nov. 23 in Kwanar Gwarmai Village at Bebeji.

Haruna said preliminary investigations revealed that the defendant, who dwelt within precisely the exact same neighbourhood with the sufferer, encouraged him to farmland and then chased him.

The defendant, he stated, strangled the victim to death when he realised he had no place to hide.

“The defendant is known as the victim’s dad through his neighbour’s telephone number and demanded a ransom of both N1.3 and N20,000 MTN recharge card.

“The defendant led a medical group and detectives into the place where Tijjani was murdered.

“’ The human body was exhumed, analyzed and introduced to his relatives for burial in accordance with Islamic rites,” he explained.

Haruna stated the Police Commissioner, Mr Habu Sani, had arranged a discreet investigation into the episode.

The ground troops of the Operation Thunder Strike (OPTS) on Friday night foiled an attempted kidnap by armed bandits of citizens plying the Kaduna-Abuja road.

“The Kaduna State Government received functional feedback the armed bandits tried to function in the Kasarami axis of this road situated in Chikun local government area at around 7:38pm.
“The troops aggressive patrols engaged the armed bandits who spread in disarray while the troops chased them off the road.

“Many of the bandits seem to escape bullet wounds. Troops continue monitoring them and citizens will be briefed about the development.”

According to the statement,” that the rest of the troops manned the path to guarantee dissolution of the traffic that built up after their engagement.

“The Kaduna State Government apologizes to motorists and other road users who suffered delays as a result of the safety response. The inconveniences were an accidental consequence of attempts to safeguard property and lives.

“As at the time of this security upgrade, traffic is flowing on both lanes of the highway, and the troops are sustaining aggressive fighting patrols to deny the offenders freedom of action,” the statement added.

3 Medical Officers Arrested Over Child Trafficking

Police Inspector-General Hilary Mutyambai said the three were arrested during a sting operation to unearth organised crime amid reports that public hospitals and children’s homes in Nairobi are involved in the syndicate.

In a statement Mutyambai said “in the course of the investigations and operations, it’s unfortunate that it was realized that senior medical officers in collusion with the child smugglers are highly involved.’’

Mutyambai said the three suspects would be arraigned before a magistrate hinting that more arrests would be made as investigations continue.

On Tuesday, the government said it had set up a multi-agency task force to probe child trafficking exposed by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).

Simon Chelugui, labor and social services cabinet secretary said the investigation is at a preliminary stage to establish all the networks behind the syndicate.

“We do not condone child trafficking and we will do everything possible to get to the bottom of this issue.’’

24-year-old For Kidnapping, Killing Of Girl In Kano.

The Kano State police public relations officer, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, has said that the State Police Command has arrested a 24-year-old Habibu Sale, who kidnapped and allegedly killed an eight-year-old Asiya Tasiu of Chikawa village in Gabasawa local government area of the state, after collecting a ransom of N500,000.

DSP Kiyawa, who spoke on behalf of the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Habu A. Sani, said the incident happened on June 5, 2020 but police effected Sale’s arrest on November 7, in front of his house after keeping a close surveillance on him.

Police investigations revealed that Sale killed the girl after collecting the ransom and buried her in a shallow grave on the outskirts of Chikawa village to cover his crime because the victim who lived in the same vicinity with him, could recognise and possibly expose him.

The police spokesperson added that Sale kidnapped Asiya while she was going for an errand in her aunty’s place, adding that, the suspect is a neighbour of the deaceased’s aunty.”

Though Sale confessed to have committed the crime alone, police investigations indicated that there were other accomplice at large, because he confessed to have spent the N500,000 ransom on harlots, drugs and gambling.

Father of the deceased, Alhaji Tasiu Mohammed Adamu told journalists at the Bompai Police headquarters that the kidnapper of his late daughter initially demanded for N10million ransom before it was negotiated for N500,000.

“What I can not explain is why did he resolve in killing her after paying the ransom to him. This is very wicked of them. I need justice and I believe police will ensure that justice is done for the sake of my daughter.”

Sale, who confessed to have kidnapped the little girl and collected a ransom of N500,000, however, said the girl died as a result of motorcylce accident when he was taking her to a hideout.

While confessing to the crime, he said he was aware that he could be killed by hanging, but pleaded for mercy.

According to him, “I travelled to Kaduna state where I stayed and enjoyed with my women friends. We took drugs and indulged in gambling and that was how the ransom I collected got finished.”
