Police arrest man for alleged kidnap, murder of teenager

The Police Control in Kano has Supported the arrest of a Single Anas Sa’idu for allegedly kidnapping and murdering a 16-year-old, Tijjani Kabiru, in Kwanar Gwarmai Village at the Bebeji Local Government Area of the Country.

The spokesman of this control, DSP Abdullahi Haruna, said this in a statement on Saturday at Kano.

Haruna said the control on Nov. 9 received a complaint in the victim’s father, Alhaji Kabiru, his son, Tijjani, was murdered at Kwanar Gwarmai, Kwanar Dangora city in Bebeji.

The spokesman said the defendant was detained by men of Operation Puff Adder on Nov. 23 in Kwanar Gwarmai Village at Bebeji.

Haruna said preliminary investigations revealed that the defendant, who dwelt within precisely the exact same neighbourhood with the sufferer, encouraged him to farmland and then chased him.

The defendant, he stated, strangled the victim to death when he realised he had no place to hide.

“The defendant is known as the victim’s dad through his neighbour’s telephone number and demanded a ransom of both N1.3 and N20,000 MTN recharge card.

“The defendant led a medical group and detectives into the place where Tijjani was murdered.

“’ The human body was exhumed, analyzed and introduced to his relatives for burial in accordance with Islamic rites,” he explained.

Haruna stated the Police Commissioner, Mr Habu Sani, had arranged a discreet investigation into the episode.
