A Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in Abia state, Hon. Martin Ikechukwu Apugo has condemned the reported attacks of Northerners and destruction of their property during the  recent EndSARS protest in the state and  in parts of the country .

Apugo who contested for House of Representatives for the Umuahia/Ikwuano Federal Constituency in the last general election made this known in a statement he made available to journalists.

Speaking on the   Judicial Panel of Inquiries set up by the state governments to look into the level of destruction presumably orchestrated by hoodlums disguising as #Endsars protesters, Apugo called on the  state governments to ensure transparency during the investigation and also ensure  proper compensation to the victims of such unwarranted attacks, while he also   advised the youths to shun any act that can cause trouble which will be of no interest to the nation.

He also urged every youth  in the southern part of the country to imbibe the  spirit of peaceful co-existence irrespective of their ethnic or religious differences,  and therefore, reminded  them that the Igbos also live in every nooks and crannies of Nigeria doing their businesses without molestation.

Apugo however expressed sadness that hoodlums hijacked the protest to cause mayhem.

He therefore, urged the Abia state government to compensate the victims adequately.
