Chieftains of All Progressive Congress (APC) in Cross River State have welcomed Governor Ben Ayade who defected to the celebration on Thursday at Calabar.
He advised the governor that”Cross River State has always been in the Egyptian Nigeria politics. There’s no gainsaying the fact that the past 6 years of being in the opposition has impacted the State negatively, even though you have consciously navigated the boat of governance in sync with all the APC-led Federal Government. As a State, we can ill afford to remain in the opposition. I commend you for recognizing this reality and also doing the needful for the good of the beloved State.”

He said of his hopes the”coming of Governor Ayade will enrich our internal democracy and I enjoin you to be consultative, inclusive, democratic, transparent and accountable because these will be the hallmarks of the All Progressives Congress family. In addition, I anticipate that your existence in the APC will strengthen the party and improve our electoral fortunes in Cross River State.”
Also welcoming Governor Ayade into the APC, Chief Obono Obla former Presidential Aide to Muhammadu Buhari, stated”I welcome heartily Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State of Nigeria to the progressives fold-All Progressives Congress, APC. Governor Ayade is Person, also he has his great and negative sides, as I and You”
Adding that Gov. Ayade” has performed his Finest for Cross River State, and he is doing his finest. Cross River State has a huge debt profile which Governor Ayade inherited, but Governor Ayade has handled the State’s economy, paying salary and performing projects.
Obono-Obla pledged to work assiduously with Ayade to improve the Party’s fortunes.
