Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, has said that his chief, President Muhammadu Buhari, isn’t considering running for a third semester in 2023.
Shehu revealed the burning of channels and offices of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will not prevent the 2023 general elections. The Presidential spokesperson said this on Tuesday during a meeting on Arise TV.
He stated, “it’s quite upsetting that INEC and authorities offices have been set ablaze in areas of the nation by anarchists. I feel the law enforcement representatives are adequate enough to manage them.
“Does anyone want to prevent elections in 2023? President Buhari isn’t interested in the third semester; he’s not suited for that. So, there’ll be more election in 2023 and we’ll arrive, God willing.”
It has resulted in widespread rumours that political interests are enthusiastic about making certain the 2023 general elections do not grip.
