Rotimi Ameachi, a former minister of transportation in Nigeria, claims he is returning to Rivers State to ensure that the All Progressives Congress will win the general elections in 2023.
Shortly after touching down at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, on Saturday, Amaechi made the statement.
His supporters and APC leaders greeted him with fanfare when he arrived at the airport.
In response to his defeat in the APC presidential primary last month, the former minister pledged to resolve all internal disputes within the party.
In order to accomplish the goal, he therefore appealed to the party’s members to join him.
Speaking about lawsuits filed against the party over the way its primaries were handled in the state, Amaechi characterised the litigants as troublemakers who wanted to make the party’s 2019 experience in the state repeat itself.

On the other hand, he pledged that the APC would be on the ballot the following year.
He remarked, “I thought they were popular, but all those who are worried about the election and want to file a lawsuit to have people’s names struck off the ballot?
In the election, we’ll gauge how popular we are. Have faith in the court; justice will be served. Do your job at home without being afraid.
Work is our job. Consequently, I arrived.
Having received 316 delegates, Amaechi recently finished second in the APC presidential primary.
