Engineer Rauf Aderemi Olaniyan, Oyo State’s Deputy Governor, has been impeached.
On Monday, the state House of Assembly impeached Olaniyan.
Legislators impeached the deputy governor around 11:30 a.m.
The Peoples Democratic Party controls the House of Assembly (PDP).
During the plenary on Monday, lawmakers announced that they had impeached the deputy governor based on the recommendation of the investigation panel.
The impeachment was announced on Monday, following the adoption of the report of the seven-man panel formed to investigate allegations levelled against the deputy governor.
