Godspower Adigheti, 23, has been arrested by the Delta State Police Command for allegedly hacking his girlfriend, Gift Oloku, to death.
The suspect allegedly killed Oloku, a Delta State Polytechnic, Ozoro student, for destroying his iPhone 11 Pro Max.
According to reports, Adigheti had engaged the deceased, who was cohabiting with him, in a fight over her activities in the house.
The suspect’s iPhone 11 Pro Max screen was smashed during the heated argument, according to reports.
The lady died in a hospital, according to DSP Bright Edafe, the State Police Public Relations Officer, who confirmed the incident in a statement.
“On July 16, 2022, the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Ozoro received a distress call that one Godspower Adigheti, 23, of Oramudu quarters, inflicted machete cuts on his 22-year-old girlfriend, Gift Oloku,” he said.
“The lady was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.” Meanwhile, the suspect is in custody, and an investigation is underway.”
