The Bauchi State Police Command has confirmed the kidnapping of a 25-year-old pregnant woman, Rahila Dau, at Gizaki Village of Lusa Ward in the state’s Bogoro Local Government Area.
The incident occurred on July 16, according to the Command’s spokesman, SP Ahmed Wakil, who confirmed the incident to newsmen in Bauchi.
He stated that the incident was reported to the Bogoro Police Division, and that the Commissioner of Police, Umar, urged personnel to do everything in their power to rescue the victim.

He went on to say that the personnel, led by the DPO, went to the scene and found 5 empty shells of bullets fired by the kidnappers.
He did, however, assure that the police were on top of the situation and that the victim was rescued unharmed.
Meanwhile, Bogoro LGA Chairman Mr Iliya Habila urged traditional rulers and community leaders in the area to be more vigilant and strengthen their local security networks in order to reduce the influx of strangers into their domains.
