Running mate denies Zamfara PDP gov candidate’s defection

Malam Mani, the People’s Democratic Party’s deputy governorship candidate in Zamfara State, has denied that the party’s standard bearer in the state, Dauda Lawal Dare, was defecting to the All Progressives Congress.

Mani told journalists in Gusau on Sunday that the alleged story contained no truth.

“Dauda Lawal Dare has never considered defecting to APC,” he said.

He maintained that it was a complete lie spread by some miscreants who misled the public.

“Dauda has no intention of leaving the PDP and will run for and win the governorship election in 2023 on the PDP platform.”
“Those who are spreading the rumors of Dauda’s defection to APC are those who are not comfortable with this growing popularly,” Mani said.

He stressed that Dauda was still in the race and would pursue the issue until he finally clinched power by the grace of God.

Mani expressed optimism that the PDP would win Zamfara State, considering the large number of people defecting to PDP from APC and other parties daily.

He called on the people of the state to support the candidature of Lawal Dare to save the state from total disintegration due to persistent insecurity challenges.
