    She was said to have been killed inside her car parked in front of her residence in the 8800 block of Frankford Avenue.

    Three weeks after the tragic incident, the police have not made any arrest, leaving Sule’s family and friends searching for answers, according to News.

    Magaji, a lady who was among the last people to have seen Sule alive, stated the two of them spent the night before together, eating snacks and watching Netflix together.

    Less than 24 hours later, Sule was sitting in her grey Toyota Corolla, exchanging text messages with Magaji, when an unidentified man walked up to the car with a gun drawn and shot her several times.

    Sule’s father, Adewale Sule, heard the gunfire and emerged from the house just in time to see the suspect fire the last of the shots at his daughter.

    ‘I saw the man shooting my daughter. He shot the last round, and I pursued him,’ stated the daddy. ‘He ran back to his car.’

    Najeet was rushed to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, where she was pronounced dead about 30 minutes later.

    Her mom, Tawakalitu Sule, stated she last heard from Najeet less than two hours before the shooting when her daughter asked her when she would be home.

    ‘All of my children have been crying every day due to their big sister. They miss her. I miss my daughter,’ she stated in a report in news.

    An auto crash that occurred on Ilesa-Ife road on Monday morning has claimed the lives of two individuals including a journalist with Unique FM radio station in Ilesa, Sunday Alakinde.

    The crash occurred around Rock Villa, opposite Old Sazo in Ilesa, according to eyewitnesses.

    The accident involved a white luxurious bus with registration number LND 322 XY and a Blue 406 Peugeot Saloon car with registration number SMK 312 GQ.

    The death of the journalist came as a shock to many, particularly people who listened to his programme on the radio on Sunday evening as they received the news of his death on Monday morning.

    Fifty-four people who embody 34 men and 20 women were involved in the accident whereas the journalist and a man whose identity could not be ascertained died.

    Many people sustained an injury in the accident and have been taken to Wesley Hospital Ilesa for medical treatment while the corpses of people who died had been deposited at the hospital morgue.

    The operatives of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and Nigeria Police, Ijamo Divisional Headquarters, Ilesa, arrived at the scene of the accident and evacuated the corpses, rescued the victims and cleared the road.

    The Sector Commander of the FRSC, Osun State command, Mrs Kudirat Ibrahim, confirmed the incident was reported

    Speaking through the FRSC Public Relations Officer, Agnes Ogungbemi, the sector commander stated the accident was caused by a velocity limit violation.

    Meanwhile, 4 persons were critically injured after two vehicles collided at Piri village, on Abuja-Lokoja road.

    A witness stated the accident happened around 2:12 pm when a Mercedes Benz with registration number MSU 378 NA from Lokoja axis overtook dangerously and collided with a Golf car with registration number AE 750 NAS.

    He stated the 4 victims, two men and two women, have been rescued and taken to the hospital by men of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Kwali.

    When contacted, the Yangoji unit commander of the FRSC, ACC Anthony Egwu, confirmed the accident, which he attributed to hurry to limit violation and dangerous overtaking.

    A popular Islamic cleric, Shaik Taofeek Azeez, fondly called Akeugbagold, on Monday, asked an Oyo State High court sitting in Ibadan, to withdraw charges against abductors of his two-year-old twins last year.

    Ridwan Taiwo, 30, Rafiu Mutiu, 35, Olumide Ajala, 36, Rafiu Modinat, 29, Bashiru Mohammed, 33, and Opeyemi Oyeleye, 25, were arrested and are being prosecuted for abducting the twins at their Ojoo residence on April 17, 2020.

    The twins were released eight days later after an N4 million ransom was allegedly paid to safe their freedom.

    Reacting to the application of the Islamic cleric, Justice Moshood Abass, stated he was not binding on the demand to release the criminals since the crime had been committed against the state.

    The judge, who invited parents of the criminals to face the crowd within the court, stated the parents have created a problem for society by not taking good care of their children.

    “Thank God those children were not hurt. I might have sentenced you to death. Do you pray for your kids to be kidnapped? As for your parents, your kids have brought disgrace to you and your entire household. Did you train them in the ways of God?”

    Speaking on the reason behind his withdrawal from the case, the Islamic cleric stated; “forgiveness is one of the pillars of my religion and I, therefore, decided to follow the dictate of the Qur’an.

    “I decided to take the decision because I preach forgiveness which is one of the pillars of Islam. I’m happy I’ve seen my twins unharmed however my friends who kidnapped them will need to sign an undertaking that nothing will occur to my family.”

    The Minority Caucus in the House of Representatives has expressed shock over the assassination attempt on the Governor of Benue State, Dr. Samuel Ortom, calling for a full scale investigation into the incident with a view to bringing the assailants and their masterminds, no matter how highly placed to justice .

    Last week, gunmen suspected to be herdsmen attacked the Governor’s convoy while on a visit to his farm.

    The lawmakers, in a statement by the Minority Leader, Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, described the incident as another daring attempt by the legal elements to destabilize the state.

    Elumelu stated the lawmakers had been distressed by the disposition of certain state actors, whose actions and body language appear to embolden acts of terrorism to the extent that criminal elements can summon the audacity to the trail and attempt to assassinate a state governor.

    He urged Governor Ortom not to be deterred by the attack and stay courageous in discharging his duties to his people.

    While commending the security personnel attached to Ortom for their gallantry in repelling the attackers, he additionally charged the Inspector General of Police, to beef up security around the Governor at this crucial time.

    Elumelu said, ”We are alarmed by this brazen try by outlaws to assassinate a democratically elected Governor in our nation. It’s indeed disturbing that outlaws, bandits and terrorists have been so indulged that they now have the temerity to fire shots at and attempt to assassinate a democratically elected Governor.

    ”Moreover, the assault on Governor Ortom has again brought to the fore, apprehensions of alleged lapses in our security structure, significantly given that the assault came on the heels of his continuous distress call to the Federal Government to take decisive steps to guarantee the security of life and property in his state.”
