Ehanire, who revealed this in the daily media briefing of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 at Abuja, said the initial group of inheritance could be medical employees who had been exposed to the chance of COVID-19 disease daily basis.
He, however, stated any vaccine which could be administered from the nation could be exposed to certification from World Health Organisation (WHO) and the National Agency For Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC).
According to him, the national government was also working with the National Assembly to put aside funds to the COVID-19 vaccines when they’re readily available.
The minister stated: “The very first group of candidate vaccines are all set to be rolled out in Europe and also the USA along with a specialized working group headed by the National Primary Health Development Agency (NPHDA) is working on the evaluation of potential vaccines and Nigeria’s vaccine requirements.
“We’re working together with the World Health Organisation and GAVI-led Covax facility as well as other stakeholders to make sure Nigeria receives quality vaccines when they’re deployed.
“We also continue to explore all avenues of having access to other vaccines and then link, met with Ambassador of United Arab Emirate (UAE) from Nigeria to discuss collaboration with regard to vaccine technologies and creation.
“He reaffirmed the aid of his nation for our response to the pandemic.”
