Bandits attacked Dabaibayawa village in Batagarawa and Dankiri village in Dutsinma Local Government Area, according to the Katsina State Police Command.
SP Gambo Isah, the Command’s spokesperson, revealed this while speaking to reporters in Katsina on Wednesday.
SP Isah also revealed that the command had killed six suspected terrorists, recovered an AK-47 rifle, 110 cows, and 242 sheep and goats.

“On May 17, 2022, a distress call was received indicating that a group of terrorists attacked Dantakiri village in Dutsinma LGA and rustled an unknown number of domestic animals.
“Area Commander Dutsinma led teams of cops and vigilantes to Mararabar-Sayaya, Matazu LGA, and stopped the terrorists.
“The teams engaged the hoodlums in a gun battle, neutralised six terrorists, and recovered 86 cows, 101 sheep, and 101 goats.”
“One AK 47 rifle was also discovered during the investigation.” Some terrorists may have escaped with gunshot wounds.
On the same day, another distress call was received, stating that a group of terrorists armed with AK 47 rifles attacked the farm of rtd AIG Lawal Mani in Dabaibayawa village, robbing all of the domestic animals.
“The Anti Kidnapping Unit, DPOs of Batagarawa and Batsari were alerted to pursue and block the hoodlums as they were moving towards Rugu forest with the rustled animals,” he said.
“As a result, the team was successful in capturing them at Kandawa village in Batsari LGA.
“The team engaged the terrorists in a fierce gunfight, successfully repelling them while also recovering all of the rustled domestic animals, which included 24 cows and 141 goats and sheep. “We’re still looking into it.”

According to a police spokesperson, the command has busted car theft gangs and recovered stolen vehicles.
He went on to say that they also arrested a suspected terrorist who admitted to taking part in several attacks on villages in the state’s Safana LGA.
