Terrorists killed approximately forty people, including troops, in the southern portion of Taraba State, according to the Senate on Tuesday.
Senator Emmanuel Bwacha raised a point of order, prompting the action (APC, Taraba South).
During the Sallah break, Bwacha called the chamber’s attention to occurrences of banditry and terrorism in Southern Taraba.
According to him, the terrorists arrived on motorcycles and slaughtered approximately 40 individuals, including soldiers who had been dispatched to protect the hamlet.
The Senator expressed his condolences to military officials for the loss of their troops and officers in the line of duty.
He urged the federal government to direct the appropriate agencies to give assistance items to the attack victims.
Ahmad Lawan, the Senate President, urged Nigerians to support the military by providing the necessary motivation and information to help them combat insecurity.

“Let me also add that the military and our armed forces are trying their best,” Lawan said. “We have no choice but to help them in every manner we can.”
We have been providing monies for our armed forces in the Senate and National Assembly, and I believe that this administration has provided them with more resources than any prior one to combat the different forms and repercussions of instability in the country.
As a result, we will continue to provide such assistance. I also want to encourage all Nigerians to continue to support our armed forces because they are doing so much despite the fact that we do not have adequate resources to support them. However, I believe that citizen support for the military will energise and motivate them.”
Following that, the Senate conducted a minute of silence for all those killed in Southern Taraba by terrorists.
