As the 2023 general election approaches, Hanatu Musawa, the Deputy Director of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Organisation, has stated that the alleged plot to depose Senator Abdullahi Adamu as the ruling party’s National Chairman is merely social media talk.
Musawa stated this on Monday night’s Politics Today programme on Channels TV.
“We have complete faith in him, and I don’t think anything will change in that regard,” she said.
“I believe that most of what you are hearing in the news is not the official position of the party, but rather discussions on social media.”
“Most party leaders, including the National Executive Council (NEC), support his leadership.”
High-ranking members of the APC say reports about a purported move to remove Adamu are being sponsored by the opposition, vowing to put up a good outing in the 2023 general elections.
