The Action Alliance (AA) presidential candidate, Hamza Al-Mustapha, has stated that he has no regrets about working with late President Sani Abacha.
Al-Mustapha was the late dictator’s Aide-de-Camp (ADC).
Abacha was Nigeria’s president from 1993 until his death on June 8, 1998.
Speaking on Channels Television on Friday, Al-Mustapha, who is accused of plotting at least four coups from prison, insisted that serving Abacha was part of his job.
“I have no regrets.” When you join the military, you should be willing to work anywhere.
“You could be in the worst part of the country or the world. It is my personal experience.
“My personal destiny led me to where I served.” You will notice a noticeable difference wherever I serve.
“I have done so my entire life and career.”
“I never asked to be posted anywhere. They saw something in me and posted me everywhere they took me. And I gave my life and made sacrifices that will go down in military history.”
Al-Mustapha won the AA presidential ticket in June, ahead of the 2023 general election.
He won the party’s primary with 506 votes, defeating his only opponent, Samson Odupitan.
