Tuesday saw the execution of Mr. Badung David Dele, age 40, for the murder of Nanchin Zacharias in a Jos-based Plateau State High Court.
On February 15, 2016, the deceased was killed.
For strangling Miss Zacharias of Angwan Nasarawa Gwom of Jos North Local Government Area, Mr. Dele was found guilty by Justice Christy L. Dabup of High Court No. 11.
According to section 221 of Northern Nigeria’s Penal Code, Mr. Dele was found responsible for culpable homicide, a crime punishable by death.

The defendant, who had previously entered a guilty plea, was taken into custody by Jos’ Nasarawa Gwom Divisional Police Headquarters.
The court relied on three issues, including the accused person’s self-confessional statement, an eyewitness account, and circumstantial evidence from the witnesses, according to the presiding judge as she delivered the verdict.
