APC hallucinating over imaginary 43 million votes from Nigerians – PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party slammed the ruling All Progressives Congress on Wednesday for claiming that if the election was free and fair, the ruling party would win with 43 million votes in the 2023 general election.

Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the APC’s National Chairman, made the statement while receiving the Polish Ambassador to Nigeria, Joanna Tarnawska, in his office on Wednesday.

“With over 43 million Nigerians backing the party, there was no way the party could lose the 2023 elections,” he said.

Debo Ologunagba, the PDP’s spokesman, reacted angrily to Adamu’s statement on Wednesday night, asking where the APC hoped to get the “imaginary” votes.

Unless the APC chairman was hallucinating, such a statement should not be coming from a party that rode to power on lies and propaganda, according to Ologunagba.

“Which 43 million Nigerians is the APC counting on? Are they the ones who are hungry, have had their lives cut short, or have had their children abducted? Abdullahi Adamu is having a mental breakdown. That’s the best way I can describe it. (The) APC is a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) (Special Purpose Vehicle). They came into power on the basis of lies, fraud, and deception. They have forgotten that Nigerians have grown wiser in recent years. The truth is that every SPV serves a specific purpose, but this one is for the purpose of liquidation. They will no longer benefit from the lies of 2015.

“Are they talking about imaginary 43 million Nigerians who can’t travel by road or rail because of the ASUU strike and whose children can’t go to school?” he joked.

The PDP image maker also accused the ruling party of dividing Nigerians along ethnic and religious lines, claiming that the country is more divided than ever.

“Now Nigerians are wiser. We knew we’d made a mistake by visiting them. They only brought us chaos, and they will face their doom in 2023.

“They even have a presidential candidate who stated on national television that he brought the pain that the APC government led by President Muhammadu Buhari causes Nigerians.” In a more rational world, that presidential candidate would apologise to Nigerians,” he said.
