Reverend Father Emmanuel Silas of St. Charles Catholic Church in Zambina, Kauru Local Government Area, Kaduna State, has also been kidnapped.
The Chancellor of the Kafanchan Catholic Diocese, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Okolo, announced this sad development.
Only a few days ago, two Catholic priests, Rev. Father Peter Udo and Rev. Father Philemon Oboh, were kidnapped in Edo state.
Chancellor Okolo revealed in a statement on Monday that the priest was kidnapped in the early hours of the morning from the parish rectory of the church.
“We regret to inform you of the kidnapping of our Priest, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Silas.” The incident happened in the early hours of July 4, 2022, when he was unable to attend morning Mass. He was kidnapped from St. Charles Catholic Church in Zambina, Kaduna State’s Kauru Local Government Area.”
“We ask for fervent prayers for his prompt and safe release.” We would also like to urge everyone not to take the laws into their own hands.”
“We will use every legal means at our disposal to ensure his prompt and safe release.”
