At least five soldiers have been believed to have been shot dead together Wetheral Road Owerri at Imo State as unidentified gunmen attacked the region.
The incident occurred in the late afternoon of Friday.
According to an eyewitness, the bandits shot the soldiers oblivious and opened fire, killing five in a place.
“Right now, five soldiers are shot dead. Wetheral Road, Nazi/Aba street, Government House Roundabout and the connection roads are shut down.

“I saw the soldiers evacuating the corpses at a Hilux automobile, there were also five.
“The bandits have taken off and taken sporadically from the atmosphere to scare away people.”
The Imo State Police Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana’s amount wasn’t accessible as in the time of submitting this report.
