On Tuesday evening, unidentified gunmen allegedly killed three people in Sapele, Sapele Local Government Area, Delta State.
At around 7:10 p.m., gunmen stormed a provision store across the street from Seplat Petroleum Development Company on Ufuoma Atose street, according to a Facebook user, Sapele Oghenek, who made the disclosure on his verified page.
He went on to say that they opened fire on some of the customers without provocation, killing two of them right there and then.
Several other people were injured, including the landlord of the compound that also houses the provision store, who was rushed to a nearby hospital but died before medical personnel arrived.

It may be recalled that in recent months, Sapele town has been engulfed by reports of unidentified gunmen killing innocent people, prompting a peaceful protest by some women a week ago.
When contacted, DSP Bright Edafe, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, stated that he had not been briefed on the incident and promised to get back to this reporter as soon as possible.
