Breaking: Katsina Emirate Kingmaker, Nuhu Abdulkadir, Is Dead

Alhaji Nuhu Abdulkadir, the head of Rimi town, has died.

Alhaji Abdulkadir died on Tuesday morning, according to reports.

Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, Emir of Katsina, was the deceased’s right-hand man.

He died at his home in Katsina’s Rimi Local Government Area (LGA) after a brief illness.

Alhaji Aminu Nuhu Abdulkadir, a member of the family, confirmed the traditional ruler’s death in the early hours of Tuesday.

He would be buried later today, at 2 p.m., according to Islamic rites.

Alhaji Abdulkadir was one of the four kingmakers of the Katsina Emirate Council before his death.

Moments after news broke of his passing on Tuesday morning, social media was inundated with messages of grief and condolences. Politicians and indigenes are among those sending their sympathy.
