The St Francis Catholic Church, Owa-luwa Street, in the Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State, was rocked by an explosion that killed many people.

According to an eyewitness, Kehinde Ogunkorode, the explosive strike, carried out by suspected bandits, produced chaos in the region, with inhabitants fleeing for their lives.
The reason of the tragedy, according to Ondo State Police Command spokesperson Funmilayo Odunlami, is yet unknown.
“The Commissioner of Police is en route to the area to investigate the event.” When contacted by, she stated, “We’ve been hearing a lot about it and I’ll get back to you.”
