Delta PDP announces Onyeme as running mate to Oborevwori

The Delta State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has chosen Monday John Onyeme, the chairman of the Delta State Board of Internal Revenue, to run as the party’s deputy governor candidate in place of Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.

Onyeme and the governorship candidate will run together on the party’s joint ticket as the PDP’s flagbearers in the 2023 Delta State Governorship election, according to a statement from its publicity secretary, Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza.

In the statement, it is stated that “Delta State PDP, warmly Congratulates our Deputy Governorship Candidate, Sir Monday Onyeme, on his successful emergence as the running mate to our Governorship Candidate, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and we have no doubts that this is already a confirmed winning combination for the 2023 Governorship election.”

Onicha-Ukwuani in the Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State is where Sir Monday Onyeme was born on March 30, 1965. He demonstrated a strong passion for learning, for working hard, and for strict discipline from a young age.

“Sir Monday John Onyeme attended the Army Children’s School in Sokoto State for his primary education, the Government Secondary School in Gummi in Kebbi State, the Federal Polytechnic in Kaura Namoda in Zamfara State, and the University of Calabar in Cross River State, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree (Second Class Upper) in Accounting.

He also holds a Certificate in Information and Communication Technology and a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Business Management from Newcastle, United Kingdom’s Northumbria University. He is presently pursuing his doctorate in accounting.
