The most recent memo from the honourable minister of works and housing asked the council to approve the reimbursement of the funds that the Yobe State government was recommended to receive as a refund. The government of Yobe State is requesting N18,663,843,109 as compensation for five federal roads that it has built or renovated, he said.
Gwarimpa’s population necessitates not two but three MVA injection substations; the contract for those three substations was approved today for N1,640,406,426.26, an increase of about N1,113,406,426. According to him, the initial price was N527 million.

Otunba Niyi Adebayo, the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, claimed that the two memoranda he presented to Council had been approved, including the repeal of the Produce Enforcement of Standards Act of 2004 in order to approve the enactment of the Federal Produce Inspection Service Bill 2022.

According to him, the second memorandum asked the council to “approve the award of contract for consultancy services for the pr-development of the Funtua Integrated Textile and Garment Park, in Katsina State, and for the Medical Tourism Park in Lekki Special Economic Zone, in Lagos State, for a total sum of about N1.4 billion to Messrs Tata Consulting Engineers in partnership with Messrs Abi Grant Limited.”

The Nigerian Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) presented one of the memoranda on behalf of the parastatal, with the goal of digitising it and developing the eNSITF platform to combat the threat of fraudulent practises in the system, according to Minister of Labor and Productivity Chris Ngige.

“The portal management committee will manage the portal as the fourth that someone will have a management committee, and as a result, we’ll still be there for calls for the portal and the costs for the portal and management and the solutions, the upgrade, and everything they are putting for eNSITF is N1.2bn.”

The topic of the second memo is employment and job creation. It’s a portal called Nigerian Labour Exchange (NILEX), and it’s housed in my ministry, but over time, because it hasn’t been developed, the portal has gotten so small that it can’t handle the stress of the number of people trying to get into it. That digital platform is meant to be used by employers and job seekers, respectively.

“Employers will come in and load the vacancy they have, the type of skill they want, and the qualifications of people that can fit there,” he said.
