FG declares Wednesday, Thursday public holidays to mark the 2021 Eid-el-Fitr celebration

The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Wednesday and Thursday as public holidays to mark the 2021 Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, the Minister of Interior made the statement on behalf of the Federal Government on Monday.

An announcement from the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Dr Shuaib Belgore, quoted Aregbesola as congratulating the Muslim faithful on the event.

He also called”all Nigerians, at home and abroad to use the span of the year’s Eid celebration to beg for peace, stability and economic transformation in the property”.

Aregbesola urged Nigerians to be law-abiding and embrace the spirit of love, self-discipline, kindness, and endurance, as taught by the Holy Prophet Mohammed.

The Union called on all security agencies in the country to”be courageous and patriotic to surmount the continuing battle against resurging insecurity and actions of criminal elements in Nigeria”.
