The Executive Chairman of Keffi Local Government Area in Nasarawa State, Muhammad Shehu, and his driver have reportedly been kidnapped by gunmen.
On Friday evening, May 20, he was kidnapped while travelling with his chauffeur and a police officer.
According to reports, the gunmen placed roadblocks along the Keffi-Akwanga road and fired erratically into the air, forcing the victims to stop their vehicle before they were kidnapped.

The police orderly attempted to bring the situation under control by repelling the attack, but tragically lost his life in the process.
CP Adesina Soyemi, the state’s commissioner of police, confirmed the development and stated that police operatives had taken control of the attack site in order to rescue the victims and apprehend the kidnappers.
He stated, “Police officers are currently in the area where they were abducted. We have taken control of the environment, and I can assure you that they will be rescued and the perpetrators will not escape justice.”
