Gunmen kidnap naval officer in Kogi

Unknown gunmen are said to have kidnapped a Nigerian Navy officer in Kogi State.
According to reports on Tuesday morning, Musa Lawal, a Naval officer with the enlistment number X12775 ABRP3, was abducted on Monday night.
At around 8:00 p.m. yesterday, the officer serving with the Naval Headquarters in Abuja was whisked away from his residential home located behind Post Flood Housing Estate in Lokoja.

Before breaking into Lawal’s home, the assailants are said to have destroyed his doors and windows.

The Naval officer was scheduled to leave for his station this morning before the unfortunate incident occurred, it was learned.

The kidnappers are said to have contacted the victim’s wife an hour after the kidnapping and demanded three million naira in ransom.

Juliana Ida Musa, the wife of the kidnapped naval staff, told reporters that one of her husband’s hands was bleeding as he was being taken away.

SP Williams Ayah, the state Police Public Relations Officer, who was also contacted, stated that the command has yet to be informed of the incident, but promised to find out from the relevant DPOs.
