Speaking with reporters after the meeting, Akande’s media aide and former Osun State Commissioner for Information, Lani Baderinwa, explained that Aregbesola had been in Osun to observe the former governor as part of their civic engagement directed by President Mohammadu Buhari.

He explained: “Aregbesola was as a part of civic engagements as directed by the President not too long ago. He could not have done it he must come together with the sitting governor.

“Whatever is the heart of their conversation is not opened to me, but I understand they’re indoors. Incidentally, Asiwaju as usual that comes around randomly without anybody knowing was around also. That’s what happened today.

“We joined them at the meeting and I believe that as the national leader of this party, he has a stake in the whole situation, so, there was not anything unusual about the meeting.

“I am unaware of any difficulty involving Aregbesola and Oyetola. It has ever been speculations in the media that they’re at loggerheads with each other.”

Aregbesola posted on his Twitter handle that he arrived Osun State with an entourage in the Ministry of Interior to commence stakeholders’ participation meeting with stakeholders as directed by President Buhari.

He said: “Our entourage paid a courtesy visit to our chief and father, Baba Bisi Akande, alongside Governor of Osun State, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola at Ila Orangun. Baba advised us #EndSARS, insecurity amongst other issues”
