I got in trouble and left Nigeria to support the #EndSARS campaign – Davido

Davido, the ‘Fem’ crooner, has revealed how he got into trouble and had to leave the country for his support of the #EndSARS campaign.

During an appearance on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah on Wednesday, the DMW boss revealed this while discussing how ‘Fem’ became an anthem for the #EndSARS protest.

He stated that he “did not record the song (Fem) expecting the protest to happen.”

He enjoyed the experience and described his voice as an amazing instrument for the people.

Davido described the consequences of his support as follows: “I got into a lot of trouble.” I had no choice but to leave the country. That was how bad it was.

“I was reposting everything related to the campaign. It was incredible to see people come out in such a way.”

“I’ll add this: they listened to us. They were aware of our presence. They didn’t change anything, but they were shaken.
