In Boki, Cross River, Ambazonian soldiers murder 20 people

Ambazonian soldiers fighting for independence in Southwest Cameroon have killed at least 20 Cameroonians.

According to eyewitnesses in Nigeria’s Boki village, Ambazonian soldiers crossed into the Nigerian community near Bashu in Cross River State’s Boki LGA to attack their compatriots who fled and refused to join them in their fight against President Paul Biya’s government.

The incident was confirmed by Chief Cletus Obun, a former member of the Cross River House of Assembly and a House of Representatives candidate for the Boki/Ikom federal constituency.

“I can confirm that Ambazonian soldiers crossed the Nigerian border early Sunday morning to attack their compatriots who had fled into Nigeria and refused to fight alongside them.” Almost 20 people were killed. Nobody knows if there are Nigerian citizens among those killed…”

According to Chief Obun, the remaining Cameroonians in the community, who also speak the Bokye language of the Nigerian Boki people, have now flooded Bashu, which is not far from Danare, where Nigerian troops have a small camp.

Captain Tope Aluko, Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Army’s 13 Brigade in Calabar, said she contacted their Officer Operations, who said they had not received such a report.
