IPOB deny planned attack on Lagos, allegations baseless

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has described an allegation from Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, it, along with Oodua Republic agitators, intends to execute attacks on soft targets in Lagos, as baseless, false and tribal, including that it had been hatched to cause division between both caring and friendly states

Nnamdi Kanu, leader of IPOB who said this on Monday, highlighted that it’s no more 1967, a reference to the start of the Biafra war.

“The public is hereby notified that the allegations that IPOB is plotting to assault Lagos is a lie,” Kanu said.

This is not 1967.”

Odumosu had earlier on Monday, alleged the Oodua agitators and IPOB planned to attack the nation.

Odumosu spoke at a security summit convened by the Lagos State Government, said the threat was being researched, adding that security agencies could foil the plan.

Twenty-four of these groups are identified and are being carefully monitored,” he said.

“Likewise, the danger of IPOB to strike soft targets in Lagos is equally being put on the radar of their control intelligence collecting and other security services from the nation.

“Plans are being put in place to neutralise their activities. The control is using this medium to solicit assistance from all and sundry to be cautious at all times and report any suspicious person or motion to safety agencies. Let’s adopt the slogan if you see something, say something. ”’

Additionally, Odumosu said intelligence reports demonstrated that most miscreants now use abandoned buildings as hideouts and in most cases, initiation camps, adding that the majority of the deserted buildings were traced to family disputes.
