The Kuje Medium Security Custodial Center in Abuja was attacked on Tuesday night, and the terrorist organisation Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) has taken responsibility.
There have been previous reports of terrorists breaking into the prison and freeing 879 inmates, including prominent suspects.
The terrorist organisation displayed some of its members shooting their way into the detention facility in a popular video clip on Wednesday night.
In the 38-second video, the terrorists could be seen marching in packs as buildings and vehicles caught fire.
The Islamic State’s A’maq Agency released the video with the Arabic caption: “Fighters of Islamic State attacked Kuje prison in Abuja yesterday and succeeded in freeing dozens of prisoners.”
