Kidnappers demand N150m ransom to release ex-NFF secretary

Abductors of former Secretary of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Sani Toro; former Assistant Coach of the Super Eagles, Garba Yila and one of their friends, Isa Jah, are demanding N150 million for their release.

Toro and others reportedly left the wedding of the son of former NFF President, Aminu Maigari, in Abuja on Saturday, at about 05:00 pm en route to Bauchi and were kidnapped at about 07:00 pm within Nasarawa State.

A family source said the kidnappers have demanded N150m as ransom.

“Yes, it is true that he (Isa Toro) was driving with two of his friends when they were kidnapped yesterday (Saturday). The kidnappers are demanding a ransom of N50m for each of them”, the source said, adding that the abductors spoke to their host, Maigari.

Spokesperson of the Bauchi Police Command, Ahmed Wakili, confirmed the incident.

Wakili, a Superintendent of Police (SP), said: “The news is true. I got across one of his sons, who told me that he was kidnapped around Akwanga road in Nasarawa while returning from Abuja.”
