Nigerians currently acting As If COVID-19 Is Over – NCDC

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has stated that Nigeria risks losing the benefits recorded on the COVID-19 pandemic due to the attitudes of many Nigerians who are currently acting like the pandemic is over.

According to him, the cost that Nigerians will cover today to avert any sudden increase in cases of COVID-19 will probably be worthwhile compared to the tremendous losses if they don’t act with care.

“The COVID-19 pandemic is not over.

“I am appealing to all Nigerians to adhere to the measures set up to protect us and our country.

“The pre and post-travel tests and self-isolation are very important. We have to do this to avoid sudden drastic measures that can also impact our economy.

“We now have several tools in place which weren’t here at the beginning of the pandemic.

“The Antigen-based Rapid Diagnostic Tests could be helpful in massive workplaces, schools, camps and hospitals to rapidly test and lessen the risk of spread,” he said.
