Nigeria’s Relay Team Departs For Olympics Qualifiers In USA

Team Nigeria’s preparations for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics has hit high gear since 16 athletes yesterday departed the Murtala Mohammed International Airport Lagos for Texas where they will get involved in relay Qualifiers.

The team had nearly three weeks camping at Abuja to get ready for the relay races in the USA which also functions as Qualifiers for the Olympics.

It’ll be remembered that the team recently missed out on the World Relays in Poland due to visa hitches.

The Secretary-General of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria, Prince Niyi Beyioku stated”Our athletes are highly motivated to engage in a Variety of relays in the USA. Unlike a report which claimed that the team was stranded, it is possible to observe it is not true.
