To coincide with the Eid-el-Kabir festival, which is celebrated by Muslims all over the world, the Kano State Government has approved a ten-day holiday for the state’s schools.
The holiday will start on July 7 and last through July 17, according to a statement from Aliyu Yusuf, the Kano State Ministry of Education’s spokesperson.
But, according to the statement, students taking part in the NECO, NABTEB, and NBAIS examinations as well as those from other states who are on exchange programmes at the Government Secondary Schools in Gwarzo and Shekara are to continue their examination and programme, respectively, during the period.

On July 17, boarding students must be back at school, according to a ministry directive to all school administrators. The start date for academic activities is July 18, and day students must return then.
Additional warnings from the ministry stated that defaulting students would face appropriate disciplinary action.
The Federal Government has yet to declare a holiday for the Sallah celebration as of the time of filing this report.
