TCN records partial power system collapse

The acting Managing Director of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Engr. Sule Ahmed Abdulaziz has said through renewed commitment and proactive maintenance programme, the company reduced power system collapse while improving the national grid.

A statement by the General Manager, Public Affairs at TCN, Mrs Ndidi Mbah, stated the TCN head made the disclosure this recently when he acquired members of Study Group 1 in the Senior Government Course (SEC) forty-three, for 2021 of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru – Jos.

“I’m glad to tell you that resulting from our dedication in TCN, transmission grid disturbances have been lowered to the barest minimal; grid capability has additionally elevated.

“Within the first quarter of this year, TCN effectively wheeled successive all-time peak generation without a hitch; the newest being 5,801.60 megawatts (MW) to distribution load centres nationwide.”

He additionally mentioned TCN had put in a number of transformers, rehabilitated a number of substations, upgraded power transmission strains with a number of different initiatives ongoing.
