Two Bayelsa LGAs Proceed to Solve over 60 years Property dispute

Sagbama and Southern Ijaw local authorities regions of Bayelsa State are poised to solve the age-long land dispute and protracted litigations involving Isoni and Azama communities at both LGAs.

In a peace accord meeting traditional rulers and crucial stakeholders, the council chairmen thanked the Bayelsa Commissioner of Police, Mike Okoli, due to their intervention.

They urged the people of Isoni and Azama communities to put their differences aside and adopt dialogue.

They worried that reconciliation is one of the vital pillars of Governor Douye Diri-led management, noting that peace is crucial to rapid improvement.

Both council chairmen are easing the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) from the standard rulers of both communities to restore lasting peace in the region.
