Two Nollywood stars kidnapped in Enugu

Cynthia Okereke and Clemson Cornell, veteran film stars, were kidnapped after leaving a filming location in Enugu.

Monalisa Chinda, spokesman for the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), announced this in a post on her verified Instagram page.

Chinda stated that her senior colleagues had gone missing after their families confirmed they had not returned from a film location in Ozalla Town, Enugu State.

Emeka Rollas, National President of AGN, urged members to avoid filming on the outskirts of cities unless full security was provided to ensure safety.

“Two members of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Cynthia Okereke and Clemson Cornel aka (Agbogidi) were reportedly missing after their family members confirmed they did not return from a film location at Ozalla Town, Enugu state,” the statement reads.

“The two members were suspected of being kidnapped, which has increased members’ concern about the safety of actors filming in the country.”

“In light of this tragic development, the National President of the Guild, Ejezie Emeka Rollas, has directed all actors to avoid filming on the outskirts of cities unless full security coverage is provided to ensure their safety.”

“The National President is shocked by this heinous incident and has urged security agencies to expedite investigations leading to their safe rescue.”

“He also requests that all members pray for the safe return of the stars.”
