Governor Nyesom Wike is set to be announced as the People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) Vice Presidential Candidate for 2023.
Wike was reportedly chosen as Atiku Abubakar’s running mate.
The decision was made following a closed-door meeting on Tuesday held by a committee formed to oversee the selection process.
Ifeanyi Okowa, the Governor of Delta State, was also a candidate for the position, but Wike was chosen by several high-ranking members of the party.

After finishing second in the Party’s Presidential Primaries, the Rivers State Governor made headlines.
It was widely assumed that he would have won the election if fellow aspirant and Sokoto state governor Aminu Tambuwal had not decided to step down for Atiku.
