Yuletide: Police ban fireworks in Kogi

 

The Kogi State Police Control says it has prohibited the use of terror throughout the festive period.

The Commissioner of Police (CP), Mr. Ayuba Ekpeji passed the order while briefing senior officers in the command headquarters, Tuesday in Lokoja.

An announcement from the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), William Aya, on Tuesday afternoon, said that the CP advised parents and guardians to frighten their children and wards to avoid knockouts as policemen across the state have been led to arrest anyone violating the purchase.

He directed the Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, as well as Operational Commanders to review their crime-fighting plans and boost the visibility of policemen to ensure a calm Yuletide in Kogi State.

He assured members of the public the police in synergy with other security agencies in the state are putting in greater effort to ensure a peaceful festive period.
