Breaking: House Steps down Motion to Override Buhari’s Veto on Statutory Delegates

On Tuesday, the House of Representatives voted down a motion to override President Muhammadu Buhari’s refusal to assent to an amendment to the 2022 Electoral Act that would allow statutory delegates to attend political party congresses and conventions.

As the countdown to the 2023 elections heats up, the failure of the assent has denied elected public officials the opportunity to participate in the recently concluded primary elections of political parties in the country.
