Sit-at-home order: IPOB announces new dates ahead of Nnamdi Kanu’s trials

The Indigenous People of Biafra, or IPOB, issued a sit-at-home order on Saturday ahead of Nnamdi Kanu’s court appearances.

In honour of Kanu’s court appearances, IPOB declared May 18 and 26 as sit-at-home days.

The dates were revealed by Emma Powerful, a representative for the separatist group, while denying a voice note circulated on the sit-at-home.

The alleged voice messages about the sit-at-home did not come from IPOB, according to Powerful.

Powerful stated in a statement released on Saturday that any dates other than May 18 and 26 are not from IPOB.

“The attention of the worldwide movement and family of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has been drawn to a supposed voice note commanding Biafrans and residents of Biafraland to sit at home on a day other than May 18th,” Powerful added. This is the work of Nigerian paid agents, and it should be dismissed completely.

“IPOB is not a faceless movement that uses voice messages to announce its operations. Biafrans must be extremely vigilant because the Nigerian government, through its security services, the DSS and the BBC, is attempting to sow discord in our land in order to pit Biafrans against one another and sabotage our campaign for independence. But we promise them that Biafrans are aware of their designs and will not be duped by them.

“If you didn’t hear it on radio Biafra, it’s not from IPOB,” Mazi Nnamdi Kanu declared. IPOB only uses official platforms to announce its actions and events: (i)Radio Biafra (ii) Emma Powerful (IPOB Media and Publicity Secretary) issued a press statement, and (iii) the IPOB Head of Directorate issued a memo.

“As a result, the only Sit-At-Home order issued by IPOB leadership is between the 18th and 26th of May, 2022, which are the dates our leader Mazi Nnamdi KANU will appear in court.” The IPOB leadership is very strategic in its acts and orders to the Biafran people, knowing full well that our enemies are determined to put an end to this divinely appointed liberation movement.

“Our main motivation is to ensure the well-being of Biafrans all around the world, with a special focus on Biafrans in their homeland of Biafra

The voice note was allegedly circulated by the Department of State Services, according to IPOB.

“Those behind the alleged voice note should urge their paymasters to cease wasting their time and money on a futile attempt to derail the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB’s worldwide determination to exercise our right to self-determination.

“Biafrans, supporters of Biafra, and lovers of freedom all over the world, particularly in Biarraland, should thus pay no attention to faceless DSS agents and impostors recruited to serve the Fulani Caliphate’s interests,” Powerful concluded.
