    The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) yesterday announced the death of Oluwadamilare, the third child of Pastor Adeboye.

    He had been born on June 9, 1978, and expired on May 4.

    The RCCG Public Relations Officer, Pastor Segun Adebiyi, in a statement, said: “It’s with a profound and heartfelt sense of reduction, we announce the departure of our beloved son, brother, husband and dad, Oluwadamilare Temitayo Adeboye, that went to be with the Lord on May 4, 2021.”

    He explained the late pastor’s life was well lived as he served the Lord with no book, giving effortlessly and leading. He had been crowned by the Lord blessings of three seeds along with a gorgeous wife.

    “Though shaken our backbone stays Jesus Christ in whom we have the confidence that we’ll one day meet at a place where there isn’t any pain.

    “It’s the wish of the family to be granted solitude at this moment and that will be offered on their behalf”

    But, in a condolence message by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, the President also commiserated with members of the RCCG, admonishing them to take solace in God’s promises.

    “President Muhammadu Buhari extends deepest sympathies to the family of the General Overseer of the RCCG on the passing of his son, Pastor Dare Adeboye.

    The President prayed to God Almighty to give the deceased rest in His everlasting kingdom and comfort grieving family, friends and associates.

    Jonathan, at a condolence message in Abuja yesterday, expressed sadness over the passing of the pastor, describing him as a much-loved clergyman.

    Jonathan noticed that the overdue man of God lived a life that has been a pattern of good works and prayed to God to grant his soul eternal rest.

    “My family and I condole with Pastor Enoch Adeboye along with the Whole membership of the RCCG, about the death of Pastor Dare Adeboye and also a much-loved clergyman.

    “Although I never knew Pastor Dare personally, I’ve had cause to meet his dad, Pastor Adeboye, and it would appear that the apple didn’t fall far from the tree,” he explained.

    According to him, from each account, Pastor Dare lived a life that was a pattern of good works and a charge into the entire Body of Christ.

    “He had been understood to emulate the godliness and ethical leadership that his father is well known for.

    “We share in the grief that obviously comes when such a devout man passes on to eternal glory,” he explained

    Jonathan prayed to God to grant the family of the deceased and the RCCG ministry that the fortitude to bear the loss.

    Also yesterday, Lawan commiserated with the General Overseer of the RCCG about the death of the son.

    In addition, he condoled with the Adeboye family and associates of the RCCG global.

    In a statement by his Special Adviser (Media) Ola Awoniyi at Abuja, Lawan said: “I discuss their profound grief over the loss of a dear husband, husband, dad and dedicated labourer in the Lord’s Vineyard.

    “May God Almighty comfort the highly respected pastor, his loved ones and the whole members of his flock over this great loss and repose the spirit of the dead person in eternal bliss.”

    Gbajabiamila, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Lanre Lasisi, in Abuja, said it was painful for a father to reduce his child at any given point in time, stating the younger Adeboye lived a life full of worship to the Lord and service to humankind.

    The Speaker recalled how the deceased took after his father in the work of God and rose to become one of the primary youth pastors in RCCG.

    Gbajabiamila expressed despair over the loss of these a”promising young man”.

    “I’m saddened by the news of the demise of Pastor Dare Adeboye. His demise is debilitating, particularly now that we want youth like him to function as role models to their peers.

    “My thoughts and prayers are with the Adeboye household and the entire RCCG family at this challenging moment.

    “I pray that the fantastic Lord will find a peaceful resting spot for Pastor Dare Adeboye,” he explained.

    Kalu, in his condolence message, lamented the passing on of the 42-year older warrior.

    He stressed that Dare died in his prime, adding that the deceased was committed to the work of God such as his dad.

    The prior Abia State governor urged the Adeboye family to take solace in the fact that the overdue cleric lived a purposeful life devoted to the support of God and mankind.

    He explained the demise of Dare as devastating and shocking and conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the RCCG family.

    “I received with shock and pain the information of the demise of Assistant Pastor (RCCG) accountable for Region (Youth) 35.

    “The late cleric was known to be spiritually gifted like his father.

    “He was strongly dedicated and committed to spreading the gospel beyond his immediate surroundings.

    “The late warrior maintained and continued the teachings of the Holy Bible in his life, which he exemplified in his lifestyle.

    “He will be remembered for his great deeds,” Kalu said.

    Onyejeocha also said: “My deepest condolences to the family of Pastor Adeboye over the passing of the son…

    “I’m certain that as you nap on the comfort of our heavenly Father, he’ll give you the required advantages to draw peace and relaxation from the well of salvation”

    Buhari Signs 2021 Budget

    President Muhammadu Buhari has signed the 2021 Appropriation Act.

    He appended his signature to the document at a ceremony inside the council chamber of the presidential villa, Abuja on Thursday.

    The National Assembly had on December 21, 2020, passed the 2021 Appropriation Bill with an aggregate expenditure of  N13, 588, 027,886, 175 trillion

    It comprises total Capital Supplementation of N1,060,751,051,650 and total Capital Expenditure of N4,125,149,354,222, Statutory Transfer stands at N496,528,471,273; recurrent Expenditure of N5,641,970,060,680 and Gross Domestic Product, GDP growth rate of 3.00 Percent.

    The National Assembly also provided the sum of N3,324,380,000 trillion for debt servicing.

    The lawmakers increased the budget estimate by the sum of N505, 607,317,942 from the estimate of N13, 082, 420, 568,233 presented to the joint sitting of National Assembly by President Muhammadu Buhari on October 8, 2020.

    A PAN-Ohanaeze Ndigbo socio-political firm, Seminar of Igbo Professionals Worldwide (COIPOW), has started intensive campaigns, meetings, and even lobbying to make sure that the Southeast generates the president in 2023.

    The team slammed the creation of a security outfit from the pioneer of proscribed Indigenous individuals of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu, saying that the move would hamper the strategy since most leaders would view it in a poor light and draw their support.

    The announcement reads: “We thank crucial Igbo leaders that attended that our crisis assembly in Awka, Anambra State, in which we deliberated and consented to push for president at 2023.

    “We can’t be rough for president one hand and encouraging IPOB on the opposite hand. Nobody will take us severely if we don’t take urgent actions to put the record straight by denouncing IPOB, its patrons, and creator.

    Forming this militia group once we should be viewed as calm and law-abiding isn’t the very best. Let it be understood that IPOB and ESN don’t possess our blessings and certainly will never do.

    Footballer assaulted after rejecting woman’s sexual advances in Dubai

    A woman had been charged at the Court of First Instance for allegedly assaulting and robbing a Nigerian expat after he rejected her sexual advances on the street.

    Public prosecution records show that the 33-year-old woman, an African working as a saleswoman, approached the complainant – a footballer – and offered him massage with sex for money. Shortly after he rejected her offer, he was taken by surprise when she pushed him while her friends – all fugitives – stepped in to assault him by biting and beating him up.

    They fled the scene after snatching his gold necklace, an expensive watch, wallet with cash, driving licence and car registration. The accused has been charged with forcible robbery on the street, working in prostitution and inciting vice.

    The incident took place on February 25 and was reported at Naif police station. She has been placed in detention.

    The 26-year-old footballer said the incident happened at 7pm as he was walking to his car near the police station. “She approached me offering massage with sex. I told her that I am not interested and she got angry and pushed me for no reason.”

    He recounted to the prosecutor how he was then assaulted and robbed by other women who were with the defendant. “One of the women snatched my gold necklace (worth about Dh2,500). Another accomplice tried to take my mobile phone and it fell down. When I tried to pick it up she bit me. Their friend stole my wallet in which there was Dh3,715. They also took my watch worth ?300,” he recalled.

    Out of shock, the complainant ran away and sought the help of a friend. When he returned to the scene, he found the main accused there. He restrained her and took her to the police station.

    After getting medically checked up at the hospital, the footballer went to the police station to testify. He said that the place was a lit street and it was then crowded. “I was left with a left arm injury because of the bite,” he told the investigator.

    A police lieutenant said the victim brought the defendant to the police station after 7pm on the incident day. “He said he was assaulted and robbed of his valuables as he walked in Freej Eyal Nasser. The accused was then apprehended.”

    Confusion in Buhari’s cabinet as Ngige suspends NSITF MD against SGF’s directive

    The Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) says its management remains operational, despite being suspended by Chris Ngige, minister of labour and employment.

    In a letter dated July 1, 2020 and addressed to Adebayo Somefun (pictured), managing director of NSITF, Ngige said President Muhammadu Buhari had approved the suspension of the management Somefun heads over “misappropriation and other gross misconduct”.

    Somefun was instructed to hand over to the most senior official in the board, and face a panel that would investigate procurement dealings of the agency from 2017 to 2020.

    But reacting in a statement on Thursday, NSITF said the president has not given such a directive.

    “We wish to state that President Muhammadu Buhari has not suspended the management of NSITF and has not made any such announcement, anywhere,” the statement read.

    “For clarity, we received a letter from the Hon Minister of Labour and Employment, Sen Chris Ngige, stating that he is carrying out a procurement audit of NSITF, and that Management is suspended.

    “We had noted that the Minister’s action is against President Buhari’s directive, through the Secretary to the Government of the Federations that no minister should suspend, or purport to sack any head of agency appointed by the president.

    “The memo stressed that ministers should follow laid down procedures, by going through the governing board of the agencies, to make recommendations to the SGF, ahead of any action, if necessary.

    “We respect the president’s commitment to due process, and are assured we shall be protected by it. Meanwhile, the NSITF management remains open to any form of investigation by the appropriate agencies, as it has nothing to hide.”

    NSITF said it had received many letters and petitions from the minister and that it would make communication available to the public and relevant authorities, if necessary.

    It added that the “management of NSITF is still discharging its duties, as appointed by Mr President, and we ask all stakeholders to remain calm and focus, as all is well.”

    In a similar manner, Sale Mamman, minister of power, in 2019 had asked Marilyn Amobi, managing director of the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Company Limited (NBET), to step down, but the president later overruled the minister.
